Are you getting tired of the Covid-19 isolation? Are you feeling boxed in? Are the walls closing in on you?

Are your kids giving you a new appreciation for their teachers?

Are you feeling grateful for the times you could meet with friends and family when and where you wanted? Do you wonder when it will end?

I find this Covid-19 time both infuriating and a great blessing. I don’t like being isolated, being kept away from my church, friends, pool time, movie night and dining out; but I also recognize that being isolated has forced me to examine my daily routines and life path. Have I made the most of what I have? Do I give God the attention He deserves? Do I sit in quiet time and think deep thoughts? Do I accept that I am not alone?

As many of you know, I live a fairly isolated life with my elderly mother and I often feel alone. As a writer, I thrive on lonely work. However, when I’m feeling lonely, I know that I have a friend, Jesus, who is closer than any other. I am so grateful that He took my hand in 1971 and said, “walk with me,” and that I have been walking with Him ever since.

If you want a friend who will never leave or forsake you, talk to Jesus. He is waiting for you and you will never be alone again.

Romans 5:11 — Now we rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God—all because of what our Lord Jesus Christ has done in dying for our sins—making us friends of God.

I miss my friends at Monte Vista. May they be well.
